UK Central Government Department Anti-Fraud Agency
A s part of a criminal investigation into suspected contractor fraud, we provided forensic data mining to the agency on seized manual and electronic records to look for evidence of wrong doing. Our analysis and intelligence uncovered evidence of falsification of time sheets and the presence of ghost contractors, and was robust enough to help convict 4 people of defrauding the central Government department of almost £500,000.
UK Central Government Department Anti-Fraud Agency
W orking closely with the agency on a criminal investigation, we provided forensic data mining and litigation and investigation support to analyse over 26,000 seized criminal exhibits in a £3m case of suspected car rental fraud affecting US service personnel. Our analysis uncovered many examples of inexplicable behaviour, which resulted in the car rental firm losing its Government contract and a criminal prosecution being brought against it.
Local Authority
A s part of a proactive review of their employee and supplier data, we identified a major reputational risk exposure from an ex-employee being hired as a consultant, whose service company was based in Isle of Man, and also linked to other suppliers of the local authority. In addition, we conducted an innovative three way data matching analysis exercise to cross-match employees to directors in Companies House, directors to their companies and companies back to the Local Authority’s supplier database, to determine the existence of any potential conflicts of interests.
